Conch Shell (Caracol)
The deep, haunting voice of the conch shell, from ceremonial blasts to textural layers.
- Kontakt
- Decent Sampler
The conch shell is traditionally used in Cuba in gagá and in Haiti in “The Call of the Slave”, and other countries use it for effects and folkloric music. It is usually played as a call, but you can use it for anything you want.
I recorded these samples with my good friend Robert Fernández in Phoenix in 2021. The Kontakt version plays true random round robins. I recommend a little reverb, but not too much.
Royalty free in any production, including client projects. A credit is appreciated but not required. You may not sell or redistribute the samples, or claim them as your own.
